CREDIT CARD SECURITY

Latest Security Update

YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS ARE SECURE WHEN YOU PURCHASE

FROM US!

WHY CAN WE STATE THIS? Answer: Businesstravelogue.com employs the latest in secure Internet communications using 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption for transmission of all your credit card details. Secure transmission is indicated by a locked padlock icon on the status bar of your Netscape or Microsoft browser.

ALL customer credit cards are processed in real time behind the National Australia Bank's extremely secure firewall (a protective gateway). Finally, YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS are NEVER SENT TO, NEVER SEEN BY or EVER ACCESSIBLE to Businesstravelogue.com. (We only obtain a transaction number issued by the bank)

Little Known Fact: What happens if someone does obtain your credit card details and uses it to purchase something on the Internet?

Under current Australian Visa, MasterCard, Diner's Club, AMEX and Bankcard rules, you as the credit card owner have no liability for any costs incurred in the mis-use of your card UNLESS you have been a party to the fraud. Note: Such attempted fraud can now be detected by sophisticated security methods used by the card companies. Businesstravelogue also performs customer checks prior to shipment.

Security Update: October, 2000: Australian National Office for the Information Economy and the Australian Computer Society report "The Phantom Menace: Setting the Record Straight about Online Credit Card Fraud for Consumers" concludes that consumers have greater security when using credits cards on the web than using them in shops or over the telephone. This conclusion was agreed to by the Australian Consumer's Association.

Security Update:September, 2001 National Australia Bank has introduced PRISM Merchant, a state-of-the-art system to detect credit card fraud in real time allowing the National Fraud prevention team to take pre-emptive action.

Security Update:November, 2002: World first!  Further state-of-the-art credit card security has been added to provide the best available protection against fraudulent misuse of credit cards. Note: All attempted fraud is reported to card-holder's bank.

Additional Security Checks: Since its inception, Businesstravelogue.com has also performed random checks on purchases with direct communication with the card holder's bank who then contacts the card holder to verify they  placed an order.
